Seahorse Capital was formed by a small group of investors led by Kevin Casey during 2017 to develop utility scale solar facilities in the southeastern United States. We work to acquire land rights and secure the necessary relationships to bring this important renewable resource to area utility companies and cooperatives, with the goal of bringing competitive pricing and value in the best interest of the local communities.
Kevin J. Casey brings 30+ years of financial, commercial and M&A experience across a variety of industries including energy, media and entertainment, and manufacturing. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, has an MBA from the University of Southern California, and started his career as a CPA with Deloitte before moving into advancing roles in finance, operations, M&A and business and project development.

Renewco Power (Renewco) is expanding its platform into the US with the acquisition of a 1.5GW pipeline of early stage utility-scale solar projects alongside 500MW of battery storage projects from Beaufort Rosemary, an experienced Virginia-based developer.
As part of the deal, the Scottish-based renewable power business is also forming a partnership with Beaufort Rosemary to jointly develop more sites, with the goal to bring 3GW of solar and storage projects to the ‘ready to build’ stage within 5 years. The venture will focus on states in the Southeast and Midwest of the US where there is a lower penetration of renewables and which have new ambitious clean energy generation goals.
